For Summer and Fall 2024, So There Studio and TinyShop is excited to present the TinyGallery! With support from the City of Issaquah, we’re ready to show how arts can be supported in a big way in even the smallest of spaces.

The TinyGallery is hosted within the So There Studio + TinyShop and exists to inspire (you) and support (artists). Each month we will feature a new local artist who will share behind the scenes tools and tips to get your creative juices flowing, artwork you might just want to take home with you, and tangible ways for you to support your local creative community. Open 12-5 Thursday-Saturday at 161 Front St N, Issaquah.

1. INSPIRATION

The artistic community learns and grows by sharing within itself– and we can all be part of that community! The TinyGallery encourages its artists to share process, tools, and tips alongside of finished works. This can be seen as partially completed works, photos of a workspace or process, showing favorite tools and techniques, and possibly even working on-site for events.

2. SUPPORT

Many people want to show support, but don’t have a great way to do. The TinyGallery will also work with the artists to encourage microtransactions from people who want to show support in even the smallest way. This amounts to a virtual (or actual) “tip jar” with all proceeds going to the artist. Artists may also have works available for sale, either directly or through the gallery for an extremely small commission.

We all know that art doesn’t only belong in big city galleries. A secondary goal of the TinyGallery is to show that even a pocket-sized space is a great opportunity to show work, and make connections.

Our TinyGallery space is a corner of the So There TinyShop at 161 Front Street North. It features roughly 70 inches of hanging space, along with additional shelves and an easel display. The space is adaptable for a multiple mediums, with neutral blond and dark elements.

We are currently looking for local artists to feature in the TinyGallery. There is no cost to the artist, and we would love to consider pieces that are challenging as well as pieces that are beautiful. All mediums welcome (the gallery space is adaptable.) To inquire and apply, please add your info to our artist list here or email Alison at [email protected]

This program is happening in our Issaquah Studio and TinyShop and is a living program, and details will change as we work with artists and hear back from visitors. Please keep an eye on this page for updates!
